Gail Goodman

My parents were born and bred in the Blackpool Area – my maternal grandparents owned and ran a large Dairy farm in Carleton for many years.

I feel proud to be representing the Ashton Ward, St Annes on Sea, having lived here with my parents in the 1960’s and 1970’s, where my father was stationed as a Police Inspector, and returning some four years ago to take up residence in my Ward.

Having been involved in Education for over 20 years and a Headteacher for more than half that period of time, I now run my own Consultancy and Training Business, and in the last couple of years have been contracted into failing schools around the country, in order to improve standards for pupils, teachers and parents.

I belong to St Annes Rotary Club, am a serving Magistrate, and present Hospital Radio at Blackpool Vic. I also do the same work as Ofsted Inspectors, but for Church of England Schools, and I am a Cruse Bereavement Voluntary Counsellor.

I firmly believe that every St Annes resident deserves the best a seaside town can offer its tourists – and that includes decent shops and leisure facilities, efficient and effective Council services, including clean and safe streets, and buildings which are fit for purpose.

I believe I can fairly and honestly represent the residents of Ashton Ward, ensuring that their collective voice is heard amongst those who are responsible for presenting policies to the Town Council, Borough Council and local Government.
